Sales Tax Information
Our store will automatically charge and withhold the applicable
sales tax for orders to be delivered to addresses within the State of Florida. For orders shipped to
other states, you (the shopper) are solely responsible for any sales taxes
and/or other taxes that may apply.
Numerous states have already or are enacting legislation regarding sales across
state lines. In addition to collecting sales tax in Florida, Bears Against MS
also currently has notification and/or reporting requirements in Colorado, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania,
Puerto Rico and Vermont (please see details below). Additional state
requirements may be added as our sales to different states change during the
year.
Overseas customers are responsible for any import charges, if applicable
(please see details below).
COLORADO:
VM Gifts (aka Bears Against MS) is not required to, and does not,
collect Colorado sales or use tax. Under Colorado law, purchases are not
tax-exempt merely because they were made over the internet or because the
seller is not required to collect Colorado tax. Colorado law requires Colorado
purchasers to review untaxed purchases and, if any tax is owed, file a Colorado
use tax return and pay any tax due. Visit https://tax.colorado.gov/consumer-use-tax for more
information.
We will send you an annual customer notification by January 31st
of the following year that summarizes all of your purchases with us in the
previous calendar year to help you file your Colorado use tax return.
Please be aware that we may be required to provide the Colorado
Department of Revenue with an annual statement that will include your name,
billing and shipping address, and the total dollar amount of your purchases. We
will not provide any details about your purchases from us.

OVERSEAS:
Overseas customers are responsible for any import charges (customs
duty, VAT/GST, local processing/handling fees, etc.), if applicable. Once the
package has cleared customs, you should be notified by the local taxing
authority of any amounts due and the package will not be delivered until these
charges are paid. If not paid within a certain time, the package is usually
automatically returned to the sender (see "Returns" on the Policies,
Terms and Conditions page).
To determine the amount of import charges that will be due, you should contact
your local customs office or the website Simply Duty can
provide an estimate.
Please note that due to new tax collecting requirements in the U.K., effective
01/01/2021, we are unable to ship items directly to the U.K. if the total value of the
shipment is under 135 GBP (approximately $180). If you wish to purchase an item under that value, please contact us to discuss other possible shipping options before checking out.
Also, following new regulations that went in to effect on 07/01/2021 for the E.U, we have elected not to collect VAT up-front (at check-out) but rather to continue to have our European customers pay VAT and any other import charges once the package reaches its destination country. Please note that this may delay delivery times. Also, if you live in a European country to which we do not ship directly (shipping would show as unavailable once you enter your country), please contact us to discuss other possible shipping options.
